TONS of stuff! Of course there’s buying and selling via classic and fixed price auctions, and visiting in the friendly chat rooms, and browsing through hundreds of thousands of unique items…but there’s so much more!

Buyers and sellers can participate in a variety of games and events – many with valuable prizes! Just this week there have been several benefit auctions to help community members though hard times, and also Customer Appreciation week! On Wednesdays is the fabulous Wednesday Wave, where sellers and buyers can hang out for a few hours, compete for prizes and buy and sell with each other. Very fun and relaxing game!

Also, this week is a clever Bingo game with a Father’s Day theme. And, starting today is the monthly site-wide Scavenger Hunt, where players search through other players listings using posted clues – many of which are wickedly difficult! The winner receives 100.00 in free listing enhancements from OLA.com!

Starting today is the 1st ever Onlineauction.com Listing BLITZ! Sellers have signed up to list as many classic auctions as they can in a 24 hour period…OLA has donated the prizes for this game as well.

Since so many fine sellers are leaving eBay, due to poor managment, unfair policies and fee increases, do you ever wonder if there are alternatives??

Yes - there are many, and Onlineauction.com is the best bang for your buck.

Check out this feature on Youtube!

Occasionally people will remark in the chat rooms that they feel that there are not enough sales, or not enough "activity" and wonder if they should look elsewhere.

Well, I went to 5 other online auction/fixed price sales sites and checked their chat rooms. Many were saying the same things, (and I do have to remark that on any site it was a minority)

so I copied a few of the comments on competitor sites to OLA.com:

…Hang in there!

…here 0 for 0 dollars..

Man i hope this site works and stuff starts selling here like i said i am sick and tired of the other side.!!

In order to make it work here, you have to want to make it work here. Takes a lot of hard work and determination if you want your business to zing. Have you done your google feed? Have you hit the master promotion list? Above all make sure you list your items to google feed.

is anyone REALLY selling anything on here?

Havent sold a darn thing on here, not ONE single item since being here!

is there a ton of sellers here and no buyers..

No sales for me either.

I’m promoting, putting items on sale, giving away freebies.. Only been here 2 weeks—no sales yet.

We have sold 15 items but have seen traffic falling. ***** views seem to be the same but product views are down to almost nothing…

So Far I have had alot of lookers but no sales.

Google dropped my feed!

I joined ** with high hopes of selling at least something. I paid 10.00 up front to cover FVF on anything I sold. I did 1 bold feature, which cost me .50 and now have a balance of 9.50. ** is not doing anything for me, as I've made no sales & would like to nuke everything & close up shop, so I can best spend my time on sites that are getting sales.

I am getting really discouraged.

Nothing for me... even at 75% off prices.....

It's one of the "glitches" in the new system..

The final straw was that I tried to contact **** directly to let them know what I thought of their feedback system, and I couldn't do that with any satisfaction, either. They are obviously not interested. Well, lack of interest goes both ways. No more **** for me!

Sorry to be the only one to leave a negative on this topic but I am very disappointed in this site. I have been here since June 1, 2008 and have sold a grand total of 9 items..

I recently opened mine a month or so ago and Zip nothing nada.

I left out the names of the sites and the sellers names - that just wouldn't be nice. This is just to point out although it may seem slow, there are more venues - eBay doesn't have the monopoly that it did. Everyone just needs to be patient, promote their sites as much as possible and keep being positive.

And, go to Onlineauction.com!! ... it's NOT eBay...cuz it's BETTER!

Zircon - My Favorite Gemstone!

Zircon is one of the most misunderstood, yet wonderfully brilliant natural gemstones available! And, at a fraction of the price of diamonds, with the same beautiful fire and found in a rainbow of colors!

Colorless zircon's brilliance and fire are famous. They're close enough to diamond to account for centuries of confusion between the 2 gemstones. Zircon's strong double refraction easily distinguishes it from singly refractive diamond, yet even so, some modern jewelers confuse zircon with synthetic cubic zirconia (yuck!!!) a singly refractive, manmade diamond simulant. Zircon is a natural, earth made gemstone!!

Blue zircon was quite a favorite in Victorian times. Gemologist George Kunz - Tiffany's famed gem buyer- was a notable zircon advocate.

Zircon's wide and varied pallette of colors is prized by collectors and informed consumers alike.

Zircon crystals grow in a wide variety of rock types. They're common in both igneous and metamorphic rocks.

Although most colorless and blue zircon result from heat treatment, natural zircon boasts an array of earthy browns, bronze, copper, yellows, strong greens, blush, plum and bright reds. Not only are they colorful, they have an amazing internal fire - nearly glowing from within!

Some sources of rough zircon include Australia, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Cambodia, and Tanzania.

My personal preferance is zircon from Tanzania, which I have found to be full of brilliance and fire.

If you are looking for jewelry or gemstones on internet auctions, make sure to ask if it is truly Zircon and not cubic zirconia. Some unscrupulous, or ignorant, sellers list their CZ (fake) gems in the zircon category, or only write zircon in the title, yet it is cubic zirconia they are referring to. Always ask, and also ask if it has been heat treated or what country it originated from. That can possibly help to weed out the CZ sellers.

Zircon is rated 6-7.5 on the Moh's Scale, (diamond being 10 - the hardest) so it's medium hardness. Best suited for mounting in earrings and pins, which are treated a little gentler than rings. If zircon is mounted in a ring, then it should have protection, and be worn with care so as not to scratch the surface polish.

Do a little research, buy a few specimens, and see for yourself the wonderful brilliance in one of Nature's most exciting treasures - Zircon!
